Simple way to change Tile Photos

Today I changed the tiles I’d put above my fridge and microwave because the abstract images didn’t look like they belonged. But instead of removing the tiles I just added new pictures up with Elmer’s craft bond spray. Because I printed the images with photo paper they are glossy so I think I won’t do anything more to them as I can change the photos whenever I want to. That blue flower looks lonely up there but I’m leaving it for now.

You can make tiles using your own photos , or you can order my mine

GIGI RV Wall Tiles

Yesterday I made lots of 4×4 inch prints of my paintings with the idea that people could buy the prints and make their own wall decor similar to mine in their RV. Also I needed to test my little printer and see how many images it would make to be cost effective. Would have been a great idea had I thought about it before I uploading to the RV face book sites, I had the attention of hundreds of RV Face Book members then. They may not come back here after they’ve seen my RV photos not realizing there is more to see. I’ll see if there is enough interest before I become invested in this project.

4 x 4 images for GIGI tiles.

I’d like to see if I can use resin here in the RV, It’s pretty fussy stuff but the tiles look very professional when the resin dries right. Maybe doing only a few at a time as they are ordered (smile) could work.

It took 50, 4 x 4 inch ceramic tiles to go around my door. I’m going to change the photos on the tiles above the micro wave to flowers instead of abstract tiles. They are up there with super glue so I’ll have to glue the photos to what’s up there, doubt they’d come down easily to be replaced, don’t think I’ll varnish them, too close to heat, I can just replace the photos if they get dirty.

I’ll have to include more images here, with the button to buy.

Yes, I’m thinking I could do this, I can make my own prints and make the tiles without much trouble, My new/old business.

With a new name.

My Store

Here, you can look at my pictures and order photos, cards or tiles in an email.

I have most of my images on zazzle and redbubble where you can put images of my paintings on dozens of things, they’re print on demand companies. You can put a print on cell phone cases, cards, clothes, computer covers mugs and the list goes on and on, I make a small commission when you buy something. Check it out!

I think I’ll get some of those cool totes at either place. I haven’t order them before so I’ll order one from each company and review them here. You can click below to see them.

I just got the tote from zazzle.com with the birds on it, it looks very sturdy, is huge and I like it, it will be very useful and attractive for shopping.

My First Travel Stop, I need a toad

I’m so happy I found this park!

When I started out on this journey I had no idea where I was going or where,  I would settle.  I watched the u-tube videos of course but until I was ready to go I still didn’t know where I was going.

Reading about different parks on websites helped me find this gem, the reviews convinced me I should start here.  I was planning to just stay awhile before going to Arizona for the January RTR in Quartzsite, but (I only put this out here because almost no one but family and friends and a few curious read this) I’m going to pause here and pay bills while I can do it  paying $150/month rent.  It’s pleasant, nice people live here, the park sites are nicely spaced and there’s a happy hour every day if you wish to participate.  Closest town is 20 miles away, shopping means Walmart and one grocery store.

I am at a disadvantage here because I don’t have a “toad” so I have to disconnect and reconnect  electric, water and tanks, every time I want to go anywhere. Means I have to reorganize my space each time because stuff moves in transit making a mess each time I’m out and about. I need a toad. (a car that you tow with your RV)

You probably know you should buy a car in your state rather than outside your state. I  didn’t.   I tried to buy one I liked in NM , couldn’t do it as I wasn’t a NM resident nor do I have a NM drivers license.  All is not lost though because this car can be shipped to El Paso and I can buy it there, I’m excited, my little smart car will get me mobile again and I can discover what’s great about New Mexico besides the sunset.

Tomorrow’s Market & Kira Ishi Rocks

Tomorrow will be the first time for me to manage my TailGateArt market by myself.  Thankfully Shar will be able to help me get set up and take down and all I have to do is sell. Hoping for a nice day, the weatherman says yes, no snow or rain expected and temps in the 70’s.

My paintings will be on super sales as low as I can go to decrease my inventory.  I want to paint more landscapes and play with different techniques, there are so many options for the artist now, so much to learn.

I’m excited to start making prints of my paintings to sell.  I  bought a  printer that can make prints up to 16 x 20 (almost).  Expecting it any day now, I’m hopeful because I have a  had problems with my  printers.  I guess I’ve had about 6 or so printers over the years and they have all been a source of frustration,  I am a little concerned but determined to give this a try and if it works out as I expect I’ll sell my prints and note cards here too.

I’ll have Shar’s  kira ishi (small shiny rock in Japanese) rocks for sale tomorrow,  they have been a popular item especially for kids.

Some people think  “$5 is too much for a rock” without thinking about the skill needed to produce these beautiful rocks.  Depending on the size of the rock they cost from 50 cents to $5.00.

Costly and exotic Japanese, Thai, Indian and Nepalese papers are used to create her Kira ishi rocks and she finishes with multiple layers of varnish.

All the papers have a name, the Japanese Yuzen papers have names like Jewels, jasmine, Happiness, Midnight crane and Panda bear and many more.

The Nepalese papers are made from the Lokta bush.  Lokta paper is strong and durable and Eco-friendly and called the Nepal paper plant.

The Thai papers are made of the most luxurious Kozo momi papers that are hand marbled with stunning color combinations including metallic gold ribbons.  They have names of earth events with appropriate colors as noted below.  These are the rocks I was making but Shar makes them better than I do so she is the rock maker master.

And that’s my story for today!

It was a Cold Morning….

in Richardson Texas today but we dressed in layers and set out for the Four Seasons Market with our tables, tent,  grids, chairs, rocks, paintings, tiles and persimmons for sale.  “We are getting better with the set up of the tent and it should get easier, but right now it’s still a challenge every week.

We didn’t sell any art today.

We sold rocks and tiles.  I forgot my business cards and that was embarrassing, what kind of salesperson forgets her business cards and has to give a paper with this website address on it.   I like the making and the painting, but I’m not so good at the selling part of a business. Shar is better at this so she is the business manager partner, she also takes a better photo than I do, as seen here with a happy customer.
